Four models of ADCPs are available for individual rental, or as part of a package with auxiliary communication and flotation equipment.

HOUMA, La. – Okeanus Science and Technology, LLC (Okeanus) is pleased to announce the addition of four models of Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) to its available selection of oceanographic and marine scientific rental equipment.

Winches are available for individual rental or part of a Launch and Recovery Package.

HOUMA, La. – Okeanus Science and Technology, LLC (Okeanus) is pleased to announce the addition of three types of DT Marine winches to its fleet of oceanographic and marine scientific rental equipment. The winches can be outfitted with various types of cable and synthetic rope to perform nearly any job requiring the launch and recovery of subsea equipment and assets.

With three horsepower options available for rental (25, 50 or 125 hp), Okeanus’ selection of winches feature line pull capacities ranging from 4,000 to 20,000 pounds. The 25 and 50 hp winches, typically included in rental packages with smaller equipment, can be spooled with 2,000 m and 6,000 m of ½-inch line respectively, while the 125 hp model can be spooled with 6,000 m of .680-inch line for dependable towing and launch of large pieces of equipment.

Each model is highly reliable and simple to operate, and can be outfitted with a variety of coaxial cable, wire rope or synthetic rope to tow survey equipment or perform sampling operations. Winches are available for rental individually or as part of one of Okeanus’ customized Launch and Recovery packages, which includes an accompanying A-Frame, Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU), hydraulic hose and valve kit, and appropriately sized block to match the cable type in use. A Launch and Recovery equipment rental package can be tailored to suit nearly any project’s specifications.

HOUMA, La. – Okeanus Science and Technology, LLC (Okeanus) is pleased to announce the addition of the Sonardyne Ranger 2 GyroUSBL (GyroUSBL) system to its fleet of oceanographic and marine scientific and research equipment. The GyroUSBL is used for acoustic positioning of underwater equipment by providing a highly precise, real-world geographic coordinate position from below the surface.

The GyroUSBL is designed for high-precision target tracking to a range of 4,000 m, as well as for dynamically positioned (DP) vessels. Due to its built-in gyro, the USBL can be quickly and readily deployed without the need for post-installation calibration, providing significant savings in time and operational costs. The integrated Lodestar Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS)/Inertial Navigation System (INS) provides precise recording of all motion and acoustic data, heightening positioning accuracy and effectively removing many sources of error associated with standard USBL systems.

The highly portable GyroUSBL can be installed on nearly any size vessel and provides value across such subsea platforms as installation, target tracking and surveying. New 6G acoustic communication eliminates on-deck downtime by enabling the acoustic reconfiguration of beacon settings; 4,000m and 1,000m omni-directional beacons are available. The recent acquisition of the GyroUSBL is a testament to Okeanus’ reputation as a premier provider of specialized, state-of-the-art subsea rental equipment solutions across numerous applications.
