ASV mounted winches are designed specifically for autonomous or extreme remote control operations. These winches are generally lighter in weight and can be provided with our in-house, fully integrated, control package or with hardware only to allow the customer to control the winch with their own software.

Okeanus has been designing and building these types of winches for commercial and government customers for many years and have considerable knowledge and experience solving complex challenges associated with these systems.

Slack line mitigation, constant tension mode, auto-render, and self-diagnosed health monitoring are all examples of control features built into the automated control system for winches to be installed on unmanned vessels.

Precise line position monitoring is also required, with automatic hard reset/calibration points for exact position feedback. These winches also include a mechanical failsafe for emergency release.
