Underwater Winches

Okeanus engineered underwater winches are typically designed around a specific purpose. Examples of underwater winch applications include: a mooring winch for vertical profiling systems; an anchor winch for unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs); or part of a ROV tether management system. Our deepest rated winch to date is designed to operate at 6,000 meters.
Notable Features
Deployment depth, service interval, power, and control requirements, are all critical to designing an underwater winch that is fit-for-purpose.
Commonly, under winches can be constructed with corrosion resistant aluminum, stainless, or titanium, with the appropriate anodizing and/or cathodic protection. They also have drives and electronics enclosed in a suitable subsea housing which can be pressure compensated if required.
