Houston, TX, USA. June 26, 2019 – Okeanus Science & Technology, LLC (Okeanus), an established marine equipment and engineering service provider, announced they have hired Phil Clements, a well-known engineer working in the maritime industry as lead engineer.
“We have known Phil for many years and have worked with him in the past as he was the lead engineer on the development of our dual drum mechanical mine sweep winches (MMS). We are thrilled to have him as a full-time employee of the company,” said Don Brockett, COO of Okeanus.
Phil Clements has worked in the maritime industry since the mid-’90s, and brings over 25 years of experience to the Okeanus team. Phil has worked as a design engineer, senior mechanical engineer, and engineering manager and will bring his engineering and project management skills to Oceanus's expanded manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.
Okeanus’s recent expansion was in response to increased demand for the design and manufacture of large capacity winches, A-frames and traction winches. Brockett added, “We’ve expanded production and the services we offer and tripled the size of our Texas facility. Bringing in Phil allows our team to draw on his technical skills and experience with concept development, problem solving and proposals. The end result will be streamlined internal processes and increase productivity.”
Clements experience with winch and LARS design significantly increases Okeanus’s engineering capability. Phil is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Texas, and his extensive experience with umbilical winches and A-frames for working class ROVs, and designing traction winches will be a benefit to Okeanus.
