Okeanus Delivers 20-Ton A-Frame to ThayerMahan
Okeanus Science & Technology, LLC (Okeanus), an international provider of specialized ocean equipment and marine engineering services, recently delivered a 20-Ton A-Frame to ThayerMahan, a leading defense and commercial maritime technology company, for their newly acquired vessel, TM Vigilant. The A-Frame is now permanently installed on the vessel, which has been engineered to support the launch and recovery of monitoring and surveillance assets for both environmental survey campaigns and defense-related missions.
While the 20-Ton A-Frame is a standard product from the expanding Okeanus portfolio, the engineering and manufacturing team, based out of the firm’s production facility in Houston, TX, worked with operators from ThayerMahan to customize certain specifications, including making the A-Frame 5’ wider than is standard, allowing the client the ability to use the full width of the aft deck to handle more sizeable deployments. Final hydraulic assembly and factory acceptance testing were conducted at Okeanus’ Houma, LA facility, and the system was immediately sent out on its first deployment.
